Keyboard Short cuts

Lately i have been having an issue with my hp envy 17t that when i am playing games and need to use any of the F1-F12 keys it goes to the short cut, i like the short cuts but not when im playing. in game i have to use fn to use any of the F keys and if i forget it might open of Micosoft help or something taking me out of my game.  I was wondering if there was a program or something in the settings that will allow me to turn them off when certain programs are running or just when i need to turn them off.  Thank you!

Can you please explain me why this feature is not available on one of the top tier producte the HP EliteBook 1040 G3 ?

I mean every one of HP' competitor notebooks offers this feature, and most o fthe without having to enter the BIOS/UEFI!
