I have been trying to locate the RTC battery but the manual says it should be here somewhere. Please help me locate it.

See the screen shot below with the RTC battery cradle being red circled.

There's another shape of the elitebook 8460p motherboard. This may be your type because it matches the illustration on your HP manual but this doesn't have the RTC battery cradle. The battery connects to the mobo via wires, as shown below. You may need to look for this type of the battery near the chipset and RAM sockets.

Rather surprised it's been this difficult to find the darn RTC battery, I was finally able to figure out where it is using a disassembly video (https://taplaptop.com/hp/v9cf, you can see it about 7 min in). To help anyone else with the same problem, figured out we've got the 2nd motherboard that Tk_srq mentioned & the battery is under the optical drive.

Can remove the optical drive to see it - however given we've got probably a dozen to eventually replace, still trying to figure out how to quickly replace the battery. In the video they remove the base enclosure to get to it - that's a lot of steps to get to a replaceable item.

Anyone know or have any suggestions on how to get to it more quickly?
