Hi there,

Could you please tell me if BIOS of HP laptops have limitation for RAM capacity?

I'm interested in new HP laptop - HP ProBook 4 G1i 14. Official docs (https://support.hp.com/ro-en/document/ish_12134511-12134564-16) says that max capacity of RAM is 32 GB (2x16), but CPU I'm interested in (Intel Core Ultra 5 225H) actually supports up to 128 GB of RAM.

Could you please tell me - can I install more than 32 GB of RAM because CPU supports it or there is limitation in HP's BIOS / Motherboard?

Per HP's design, the model supports up to 48 GB of RAM

Please, check the quick specs here >> https://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c09102586

The model has 2 SODIMMs and runs at 5600 MT/s

The CPU max supported memory 128 GB listed on Intel's website is generic information and it say that it depends on the memory type. They give examples of 8400 MT/s and 6400 MT/s but this Probook runs with different memory type per HP design.

Thank you for the response. 48 GB is the exact amount I'd like to install!
