I found a post that said my laptop cannot charge when connect to the G5 USB-C Docking station:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/I-connected-my-laptop-to-a-HP-...

Can I cannot a power cord at the same time without causing issues?

The post says if I  turn off my laptop and leave connected to the UCB-C  G5 Docking station Cord it will charge. Who wants to turn off your laptop to charge it?

Thanks,

Jamie

Hi @Jamie57

That link talks about another model, which has the USB-C port compatible with Power Delivery, your model does not have that port, so you must use the AC charger and you can use the dock at the same time.
