Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I have gone through your Post and would like to help.

As I understand, you could hear a creepy noise from your laptop.

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.

  • Did this happen after a power outage?
  • Does the charger overheat?
  • Does the notebook freeze when this noise occurs?
  • When was the last time it worked?

  • Do you get any error message?

  • Do you get this sound even without the charger plugged in?

  • Were there any hardware/software changes made?

  • Is it from the FAN?

Please try with an alternate adapter if possible to isolate the issue with the charger and not the computer.

If the noise does not occur with another adapter, then the charger needs to be replaced.

If it continues to happen even with a different adapter, then check with the headphones if it occurs.

While you respond to that, I have a few recommendations:

  • Update your Notebook computer to latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
