Hi @Chri123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that you moved the hard drive from your previous HP laptop to an HP EliteBook 840 G6, and after completing the Windows updates, the internal microphone and Bluetooth are not working.

Because the Windows installation was originally configured for a different HP system, some of the EliteBook 840 G6-specific drivers may be missing, incorrect, or not installed in the proper order.

Install the EliteBook 840 G6 drivers.

  1. Go to the official HP EliteBook 840 G6 Software and Driver Downloads page.
  2. Select the correct Windows version installed on the notebook.
  3. Install the chipset and system-related drivers first, then restart the notebook.
  4. Install the wireless/Bluetooth driver, then restart again.
  5. Install the audio driver, followed by another restart.
  6. Open Device Manager and check Bluetooth, sound, video, and game controllers, and system devices for any devices showing a yellow warning icon.

If Bluetooth and the microphone still do not work after installing the correct drivers, please provide:

  • Your Windows version and build.
  • A screenshot of Device Manager, particularly the Bluetooth and audio sections.
  • The full product number of the EliteBook 840 G6.

This will help determine whether a specific driver is missing or whether the issue requires further hardware-level troubleshooting.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
