Hi
I believe this is not a remote issue - i read online that many HP laptop has resulted in overheating of battery, and causing keyboard to malfunction and swell.
I experience similar issue right from the get-go but ignored it as i thought it’s nothing too significant. However, of late, it has caused me a lot of inconvenience with the overheating on the keyboard, and hence non-responsive. I will have to shutdown the laptop to allow it to cool before proceeding with my work.
I contacted the HP Support today, but the entire 1-hour chat session was about the Support Team focusing on quoting me and having me pay for the repair, without trying to understand my issue, or proceed to troubleshoot the defective issue. I was told over and over that because my warranty has expired. Yes, i understand that but in my honest opinion this is a manufacturing issue and there should have been a recall. The warranty for the replacement battery is only for 90 days. So how can i be guaranteed that the replaced battery will not overheating after 90days and the warranty will be expired. Do I need to keep changing battery?
I have used many other brands of laptops prior to HP, and for a extended period longer than the current HP laptop i am using and do not have the same issue as commented by the Support Team.
I hold HP branding in high regards but unfortunately my user and customer recovery experience with the Team today was quite frustrating and unpleasant.
