I am in a school district, and have the exact issue, with the exact model. Is there any way to order the part from HP, or at least get a replacement click disk, and adhesive?

I contacted my local HP support and it was resolved. I had onsite support as it is a work laptop.

Hi,

It depends what country you are in, The part number is 905754-001 and should be available in HP parts store. I see here in Italy it is available (in the US it is on backorder.

There are also some resellers which sell them.

On page 58 of service manual you can see how to replace the part:
