Hi @teJECSke
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
Regarding the HTTP protocol, the message “The protocol specified in the URL is not supported” indicates that the BIOS Network Update process is unable to access or use the protocol specified in the update URL. HP has historically supported network-based BIOS updates through a repository URL, so we understand your concern that a change in how the update server is accessed may be contributing to the issue. However, we would not want to confirm the root cause until the behavior has been properly investigated across the affected models and BIOS versions.
Once the system is received by an HP Authorized Service Center, the technicians will diagnose the unit based on the reported BIOS/network-update failure, along with the system's hardware and BIOS configuration. Based on their findings, they will determine whether the issue can be resolved through a BIOS-related repair or whether a hardware component, such as the system board, requires replacement.
Following the repair, the service center will perform the necessary tests to verify that the system is functioning correctly.
Since the issue is now occurring on multiple PCs, we recommend providing the service team with the exact error message, affected models, BIOS versions, and confirmation that the Network BIOS Update previously worked. These details should help the technicians investigate the issue more effectively and determine the appropriate resolution.
Take care and have an amazing day!
I'm an HP Employee.
