Hi,
Screen brightness keys (Fn+F3/F4) stopped working. It was after installing updates (drivers, BIOS, hotkey etc.), Adobe Acrobat Reader and McAfee Total Protection.
I will appreciate your help.
All the best,
Tadek

Hi TadekZ,
Do the buttons not work at all or does solely pressing the F3 and F4 keys work?
Please enter the BIOS by repeatedly pressing F10 upon startup and locate the Action Keys under System Configuration. Make sure it's set to disabled.

Same issue here.
F3&F4 not working. I also noticed that the mute (F8) was not working.
Following fixed it:
HP Hotkey Support: SP81790, Version 6.2.39.1 Rev.A
Dowloaded it from:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81501-82000/sp81790.exe
Hope this works for you.

I've solved this on multiple 830 G5 and 840 G5 laptops. They are running Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit with update 1803 installed. I have installed the latest BIOS, HP Hotkey Support, AND the HP Collaboration Keyboard. It seems that the brightness Fn keys will only work after installing the collaboration software.
