My computer was only 13 months old $900 dollar computer and now it will not even turn on, I had to buy a new computer
for a 13-month-old computer that should never have happened!
I was in the middle of doing some work and all of the sudden the laptop shut off and would not charge, turn on would not do anything. this really sucks I'm out 900 dollars on a 13-month HP laptop. I should have just bought a cheap one I am so pissed!!
I wrote to the company and have heard NOTHING!!

I report here the temporary solution proposed from HP support, waiting for the bug fix:
Press Win+X to open computer management, then select -> task scheduler -> task scheduler library->HP, open HP ICS and disable this activity in the right windows. Finally restart the computer.

Hi @SF66 and everyone who's subscribed!
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
To fix this issue, you'll need to download the new HP Power Manager Software:
Steps to resolve:
- Navigate to HP Software Support Site: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
- Locate your product
- If the site does not identify your operating system, please select your operating system
- Scroll down to the Software – Solutions web category and expand
- Locate HP Power Manager (sp140138.exe) and download and install
Everyone needs to go through the support navigation so that we can be sure you are downloading the correct software for their product and OS combination!
Hope this helps!

Hi Ric,
thanks a lot for sharing. I tried downloading the update for my HP ZBOOK Fury G7. I let the HP site detect my notebook, but an error message occurs:
"We were unable to find drivers for your product".
As you can see here:
Is there a workaround?
Best Fred

Yes, you can search the product manually by inserting the product number or type the exact model in the text box and wait a second to load the model suggestions.
Here are some recommendations of information that can help volunteers to better understand and provide support to your question for this case:
- Exact model of your product (if you need help, click here for information on how to find your model number model).
- Operating system (including revisions made with service packs, 32-bit or 64-bit, etc.)
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Our job as HP moderators is to monitor all traffic on the community.
Thank you.

Please stop going off-topic guys.
You mention especially sp140138.exe
But it is just not available (yet) for my Fury G8, it seems.
Could you please provide some proper info about that undocumented software patch?
Like a proper application name, version, info, release info and what's not?
Guess we'll have to wait a little.
