I am looking for a docking station that will allow me to use 2 monitors and it would be helpful if the docking station provided additional USB ports as well for my HP Elitebook 845 G7.

Below is a product that I had hoped would work.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SC432PX/?coliid=IZA7DNHOH4U0G&colid=3L7PWVLDV96R7&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_...

The vendor for the above product told me the following:

 Our USB Type C Port can only work with abilities of charging, data transfer & video transfer. The C port of your laptop only support charge, data transfer.

I don't know how accurate the above is if someone can chime in.

Another option I am considering is the below if someone can tell me if it would work.

https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-DisplayPort-Monitor-Ethernet-Compatible/dp/B08F2TSR43/?_encoding=UTF...

The laptop belongs to my company which isn't going to pay to get me a docking station, so since this is coming out of my own funds, I am looking for something around $100 US or cheaper if at all possible.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The second one is out of the game, I don't know exactly the first one but I would say 50/50 in terms of compatible. Why not use HP docks ? I know they are more expensive but they work.

My suggestion : HP USB-C Gen 5 is the one, it allows you to use single cable setup.

Regards.

@banhien

Thank you for your response. I am looking to get a universal docking station that would (hopefully) work with any major brand of laptop. The company I work for does a lease roll of the laptops that are issued to us every 3 years and with each lease roll, the company looks for the best deal it can get.  Sometimes we get HP laptops and sometimes we get Dell laptops.

If I am going to invest my money in a docking station, I would like for it to be useful for many years to come if at all possible.

The Plugable Graphic Adapters are designed with functionality in mind, boasting multiple connectivity options that ultimately allow you to run multiple monitors together via your Desktop PC or laptop.

I managed to talk my employer into ordering a HP USB-C Gen 5 docking station since other options are not 100% guaranteed to work.
