Zbook g2 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to connect my Zbook 17 "G2 to an external monitor with a DVI-D input (Eizo 19 - max resolution 1280 * 1024)

Big Doubt: The Displayport output left in the laptop is suitable to do so?

I thought to buy an adapter from Displayport to DVI-D and then connect a DVI-D cable - DVI-D up to the monitor:

  1. Displayport output of Notebook
  2. Adapter Displayport -> DVI-D
  3. Cable DVI-D / DVI-D
  4. input DVI-D monitor

    Also I wonder: since the monitor has a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 maybe i dont need to use the DVI cable and I could just use a VGA-VGA? Maybe the graphical difference should be minimal?

Even at 1280 x 1024 the digital connection DP to DVI will provide a bit sharper picture on the monitor. But the VGA would work. You have exactly described how to get DVI by using a DP to DVI adapter.
