Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Elitebook 840 G1 Fingeprint scanner does nog work on login Windows. It works when adding a fingerprint but at login windows it doesnt react to my finger. Not even a malfunction message.

It worked fine for years but all of a sudden it stopped working. The bios sollution does not help and now the possibility to login using fingeprint scanner has dissapeared.

If have several hp elitebooks but only this one has a problem. Looks like a windows update problem.

Been using these elitebooks for years now and this is the first problem i have with one. For te rest they are great.

ok, so i dit a reinstall of windows 10 pro. Even a format of the m.2 ssd, but there still is a windows.old map on c:.

The fingerprint works fine now. So the hardware is ok, not damaged. Sollution is reinstall windows. Drivers are installed automaticly. I will now install my software and after each program i will try the fingerprint scanner to see what causes the problem.
