I would like to set up this device for personal use; however, I am blocked by a BIOS administrator password set by the previous owner (or the previous company), and I do not have access to this code.
Could you please advise on how to proceed?

Hi @fifi5911,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that you would like to set up the device for personal use, but you are blocked by a BIOS administrator password that was set by the previous owner or organization.

HP cannot reset a lost or forgotten BIOS administrator password.

To resolve a forgotten BIOS password issue, the system board must be replaced, and additional customer costs may apply. You can check the warranty status of your product through the HP Product Warranty Check.

If the device was previously owned by a company, you may also want to contact the previous owner or organization to obtain the BIOS administrator password before considering a system-board replacement.
