my physical ram shows 2666mhz bus speed. but task manager shows 2400 bus speed.

actually what is exact ram speed?? i want to add another ram in second slot. which speed i should choose????ram 2.PNG

Hi:

 

According to the processor specs at the link below, page 4, the maximum speed every 8th gen core processor listed can run the memory at is 2400 MHz.

Since your notebook has a 2666 MHz memory chip, it bridges to 2400 MHz to match the max FSB speed of the processor your notebook has.

 

DDR4-2666 MHz memory is no more expensive than DDR4-2400 memory, so to have consistency with your hardware and to avoid compatibility issues, buy another 2666 MHz memory chip.
