Zbook15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an issue where the Intel ME is corrupted. Symptoms include, 30 minutes auto shutdown after power on, even in BIOS, Intel ME not listed in device manager, AMT not listed in BIOS.

I have the Intel ME firmware, and I want to write it to the SPI chip. However, it is write locked. Some HP computer have key combinations to unlock write access to the SPI chip, like Win Key + Left and Right Arrow Key + Power Button, but this did not work for me.

Is there a key combination for Zbook 15 to unlock read write access to the SPI chip, in particular the ME region?

you do not specify which Zbook 15 generation you have... until the last couple of generations the Intel ME firwmare was a separate Softpaq installation... now, it is included in the BIOS update capsule... I would run HP Image Assistant and see if it can determine what needs to be updated and do the updates as well

there is no way to unlock the BIOS to factory setting mode

I work for HP. However, all opinions and comments are my own.

Hi Dan,

Thank you for the reply. If I look up the model based on the serial number, it says Base Model, so I assume this is the first generation of ZBook.

I have tried the Softpaq installer for Intel ME that is available from the Driver page. It throws an error "Platform not supported".

I have tried Bios updates from 1.39 to 1.45, but it still does not repair the Intel ME.

I am trying the HP image assistant, but it doesn't support windows 10 version 2004 for this hardware. I have tried using Flash Programming Tool to write to the SPI chip, but it does not have write access to it. Will the HP Image Assistance have write access to the SPI chip, more specifically, the Intel ME Region?

Regards

Ilyas
