HP ZBOOK G5 CPU Xeon e-2176m
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I started using Xeon E-2176M, which is sadly soldered.

The unit is getting heat up at 70° Celsius while using only the browser, and throttling. using MATLAB only and the temperature is 85° Celsius.

Tried:

1. Turbo boost: off

2. Hyperthreading: off

3. cooling pad (two fans)

4. used new liquid Metal Thermal Paste coating

with charger (Temperature stays up to 65° Celsius).

Are there any specific settings to keep the temperature low/controlled of HP ZBOOK G5 Xeon e-2176M?

Thanks.

Hello Friend,

operating temperature at a value of 85° under very intense load is common and nothing to be feared of. it gets problematic at >95° when the interior hardware arround the cpu/gpu starts to heat up.

Remember if you use your laptop constantly on high temperature. You can expect a bad heattransfer of the copper pipe when time passes by. So if you do your calculation with a power supply and keep your interior hardware cool then most likely nothing will happen. If you can, place your laptop near a cold wind source if you are without a powersupply and need to do some calculation.
