Hi,
I just bought the system (i9 10900) with no graphics card and now i wanted to install my card (RTX 1650).
it worked until i wanted to close the cover. The PCIe Blower fan section has to be removed to physically let me close the cover. Here are my questions:
is it only possible to install low profile cards in that system?
is there a kit to add to get done what i have on mind?
i can remove the fan. then bios tells me the error of the missing fan. the card has a proper fan on itself, so can i tell the system not to use the fan?
after some years not buying a tower pc, just laptops) i was still thinking that adding a graphics card would be an easy job, even with an extra power cable (that i found and connected). Well sending it back might be an option. but i dont give up yet...
thanks for some advice.
ps if i missed a thread where that topic has been covered i apologize.

in the meantime i read the forum what i should have done earlier... well.
I found out that there is a 700 w power supply installed. but front fan is missing. so if i buy souch a kit, all is fine? wenn i expect no, because if i plug that kit (if possible) where i removed the pcie fan, then the system still does not know about the new fan position...
thanks for some light in that

i found out, that there seems to be only the pcie holder and fan blower unit available, but i fear that this is the unit i already have installed in my system... Or is this a substitute unit to install high profile graphics cards?

Those 9/1/21 quickspecs have info you need to read by searching on "blower". The tower version have been able to take full height and half height cards, with proper backplane adapter in place.... a full height adapter on a half height card.
In there you'll see the option part number. Also, the HP approved cards. From those references you can see the card dimensions... and also can search for that option part number subselecting for images... and see what it looks like. Those kits are not cheap.... includes the special fan and fan holder/card stabilizer.
Good luck on your project.....

Hi,
thanks for your reply. I already had the specs you mentioned. as i understood in my 700w config the blower / holder is already there. but only removing fan and a piece of foam material made it possible to put thing together and closed again.
that is the graphics card i have and want to use:

well as it seems i can not properly use such cards for gaming and video production, or i have to buy expensive hp branded parts.
the pictures you said i could find from those fan kits i didnt find. if you have a link, i would appreciate.
thanks.

Dolly Parton has a country saying about trying to stuff 20 pounds of sugar into a 10 pound bag... looks like that is what you are trying to do.
HP has certified specific cards to work, and it is not a surprise that not all cards will fit. Yes, you are right that the QuickSpecs state that if you have a 700W power supply the "2B1D4AA Blower Kit" will be automatically included. So, I believe you have your answer... your card appears to be too big. The QuickSpecs add "This card holder/blower kit is required to enable added mechanical stability when configuring select graphics cards on the HP Z2 Tower G5 Workstation" but they're not talking about all cards.
You can use the HP PartSurfer... I chose my USA location:

Here are a couple of pictures:
By the way, this forum has a search feature which can help you find things.... worth checking out:
