HP power supplies generally are very reliable. However, they can rarely go bad and the good news is that the ZX40 family of workstations is mature enough that many are being parted out. I have bought used HP power supplies off eBay for our enterprise over the years and never have had one arrive that was bad, and they all are still doing fine years later. So, I'd go to eBay, do what I did, and buy one of the higher 1125W ones for under 100.00 USD including shipping.
To find a great deal like you have locally for a Z840 is very nice... you provide the "shipping" which likely easily pays for your new used power supply.
