Microsoft Windows XP

My xw8400 needs a new CMOS battery. It is running 64 bit XP pro. It is a stock machine. The spec sheet info says the BIOS has to be backed up, when the CMOS batt is replaced. My machine does not have a floppy disk drive. I did not see a USB option for backing up the BIOS. Can I just replace the batt and use the default BIOS? Thanks!!

please carefully REREAD the directions you read on this and you will see that it's telling you to backup the CMOS SETTINGS before replacing the battery it IS NOT telling you to backup the bios itself

when you change the battery all current settings along with time/date will default to the factory defaults and for most home uses this is not a issue unless you are using non stock (custom) settings
