Product: HP Elitebook 840 G3
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I need to downgrade a TPM chip from 2.0 (7.63) to 1.2 (6.43); the current Softpack SP81900 only has the 7.62 to 6.43.
Does anyone have the 2.0 (7.63) to 1.2 (6.43) file to use with the utility?
Without this, I don't seem to be able to enable BitLocker.

I have 13 of these laptops all running windows 10 pro. The 2 laptops running TPM 1.2 allow bitlocker with no issues, the other 11 all fail saying I have an issue with the TPM chip.
Same issue as these people I believe : https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/TPM-2-0-7-63-Downg...

the link you referenced, was for people who were RUNNING WINDOWS 7, and had TPM firmware ver 2 installed
windows 7 is not compatible with TPM v2, it only supports ver 1
windows 10 supports both TPM 1.2 and ver 2.0, however if using 1.2 some security features are not implemented
therefore the link you linked to does not apply to you
please supply your current OS ver/build information and laptop model.
i would also try a drive swap between a working and non working units if both are the same model and if the swap works without issues you will then know it's either a OS issue (most likely) or a bios setting that differs between the two

More than happy to start swapping hard-drives. I'd prefer the downgrade first though. Are you able to supply the file before I have to dismantle computers? I'm not sure what the odds of the two TPM 1.2 laptops working and 11 2.0 7.63 laptops failing in the same way are.

swapping a drives/ssd's is a easy 20 min task and is low risk, and will give you definitive answer if it's a bios setting or OS issue downgrading firmware is also a 10 to 15 min task and has a much higher risk
again,................... the post you referenced was for windows 7 users needing to downgrade TPM v2 which only works under win 10 to v1.2 which works under win 7 on laptops that came with win 10 as the default OS and were reformatted for win 7
your desire to downgrade is not the best course of action, however it's your hardware so do as you choose
