Hi !

What is the procedure for setting BIOS to default ? Maybe this way: start pc- F10 and then set to default ?

Could setting BIOS to default make any harm to RAID1 configuration ?

Best regards; Uroš Roštan

HP Recommended

Yes, that is correct.

Under the File menu, there should be a set defaults and exit command.

I think AHCI+RAID is the default, so I don't think that will matter.

Check the current drive controller setting first, in case I am wrong, and you can change it back if it messes up the booting.

HP Recommended

It didn't work. Thanks anyway.

The IT servicer configured BIOS that the ALL CPU worked just at base frequency, I now enabled turbo mode so the processors now run at enabled turbo frequency, a lot of trobule by this company so I'm in a search for new IT specialist.

Best regard, Uroš Roštan

Sorry that didn't work either.

Hopefully, you will get it fixed one day.

Have a Happy New Year!

HP Recommended

Happy new year to you too.

you do not need the intel (AMT) device in a non domain/corporate setup

go into the bios, and under security disable the AMT

please make sure your main z820 Bios has been updated first to the latest version (3.91)

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/closure/hp-z820-workstation/5225041          (sp78210)

however, if you wish to keep the AMT remote access you can update the Drivers/AMT bios from this  service pack

windows 10 (64bit) if you have win 7 there is also a  SP for that os in the HP z820 drivers page

Intel Management Engine Software 11.7.0.1043   (for windows 10)

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-z820-workstation/5225041

this will extract into a folder, once extracted install the driver/application part and reboot, you should now see a new serial device in device manager on com3 if so you can now enable the intel AMT in the bios

(just enable it do nothing else) no password setup is required!!!! again only enable it do not attempt to access it

if you do you will be prompted to create a password WHICH YOU MUST REMEMBER it can not be reset from the cmos

once AMT is enabled in the bios, reboot, go into the AMT folder and locate the folder for the AMT Firmware update

there you will run from a dos box the update command, this command will auto determine the correct firmware to apply once the update says finished ok, you can reboot, disable the AMT in the Bios and reboot into windows and remove the AMT driver/software application

please read all the directions in the service packs before doing any updates. if unclear on a part post here for more help

to here, except enabling amt in bios, because there is no AMT in my bios.

When I'm in windows I have an Intel AMT icon in taskbar that says intel amt is disabled.

under system information -> system bios-> J63 v03.91 which seem now upto date

under ME firmware Version: there is nothing writted at all (blank )

HP Recommended

So this is Intel AMT made for:

Intel® AMT uses integrated platform capabilities and popular third-party management and security applications, to allow IT or managed service providers to better discover, repair, and help protect their networked computing assets. Intel® AMT also saves time with remote maintenance and wireless manageability for your mobile workforce, and secure drive wiping to simplify PC lifecycle transitions.

So I really don't need this software if the performance of workstation wouldn't downgrade ? If so I need assistance how to disable INTEL AMT completely maybe even to uninstall erase it completely.

Thanks for support.
