Dear community members,
I recently purchased an HP Workstation Z4G4 which came with no graphics card installed. I've been trying to boot the pc with an nvidia GF - GTX 650 but I keep getting the error code 3.3 (3 long white beeps, 3 short red ones) and no monitor signal. I already read in another support threads, that this can be related to the secure boot function of the pc. Unfortunately I do not possess another graphics card I could use to turn off the secure boot function. What should I do?
Thank you for your time
N.L.
P.S.: I tried 2 different pci ports for the card and it also works fine in my other desktop pc.

read/save this pdf link

you should allyays be able to see the boot screen (bios init) when the system is first turned or or reset, no matter if secure boot is enabled/diabled as that only affects the system during the actual operating system loading
contact HP support directly and have the troubleshoot the system, it's remotely possible (not likely) that the systemboard is bad

Hi DGroves,
thanks for your reply. My problem is that I get no signal to my monitor from the graphics card. HP support told me that my graphics card is not compatible with my workstation model.
If I hit the escape button repeatedly when I turn the computer on, then I don't get the error beeps, which I think is because I enter the bios init, but I cannot see anything.
I suppose that if I get to turn the secure boot function off, I should be able to get the computer running with my graphics card. Is this the case, or will it never work, because the card is not supported?
thanks for your time

again,.....seems your not understanding
you should be able to see video and also be able to enter the bios when you power on, or reboot
the secure boot setting does not come into play UNTILL THE BEGINING OF THE OS LOADING
no video at power on either means a bad video card or a bad motherboard

The NVIDIA® Quadro®P600 is not compatible with the workstation
Hopefully this link finds all searching well

Mikey,
Not sure why you brought up the nVidia Quadro P600 because DGroves and OP do not mention it at all. And, it in fact is supported on the HP Z4 G4 as detailed on page 4 of:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05857891.pdf
And, on multiple pages of the HP QuickSpecs for the Z4 G4.... I'd try some other video card that is not way old. The cards HP lists in the QuickSpecs are the current generation ones that they have done their extensive conformance testing on. Many other cards not in the QuickSpecs will work just fine.
