Hi Guys.
My Question is does this motherboard can handle the i7 3770K?
I'm on BIOS 2.05 I think if I remember (I'm at work).
Any comments?
I'm looking at this http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03612798 and the highest one is the i7 3770
Thanks!

yes the i7 3770 will work, but you might want to consider the "s" model which is a low power model (draws less watts)
i7 3770s

before you try the cpu i strongly recomend you update the bios as your bios is a early release
and later bios updates may contain cpu microde fix's/ cpu models
to do the update
you must install this first....... 02.99 Rev.A oct 19 2015 (sp73099) before updating to bios 00.03..06
Fix and enhancements:
- Added enhancement to allow for flashing forward to v03.xx.
- This is the same version as v02.98.
current bios: 00.03.06 Rev.A released feb 22 2018 (sp85516)
NOTE: Due to security changes, after loading this BIOS, older versions cannot be installed.
Fix and enhancements:
- Adds a new BIOS Setup policy to allow the Power On Password prompt when Wake On LAN is enabled. NOTE: This new setting will be enable by default, and will prompt for Power On Password during a Wake on LAN event.

@DGroves
Your response is on point, my respects.
So no 3770K support? Will find the bioses, another question: Does HP only support Windows for flashing the bios?
I have windows 10 so that would not be an issue, but I don't used since linux is my main os.

hp usually supports DOS based flashing extract the bios package and look if you see a DOS folder then create a bootable usb key and place the dos files on it
some bios's also have bios update option, if so again place the DOS files on a usb stick ,
place it in the usb 2.0 port (not usb 3.0) and power on, enter bios, select bios update and point to usb key

will it work? yes, will it over clock?...
common, how many OEM do you know of that allow users to fiddle with system settings that will result in more support/service calls?
and for busnieness systems? right "IT" people like me just don't have sufficant things to do
which is why we want to also support users that crash systems corupt data or damage hardware

Core i7-3770K is the fastest consumer microprocessor for socket 1155, and it's going to remain the fastest because no more CPUs are planned for this platform.
