I did a compare between the 3 https://ark.intel.com/compare/65524,65719,65523

and mostly the difference is on clock rate being the S the slower (at 3.10 GHz) and the other two ahead at 3.40 GHz and  3.50 GHz and also the power consumption is less on the S.

 

What is interesting is that the S is higher in the Tcase by 2 Celcius degrees

The 3770K has the same wattage as the 3470.

 

3770K and 3770S are both rated at 99% chance of successful upgrade.

i'm not guessing when i say the i7 3770s will work

 

check the hp 8300 elite minitower model, it lists this chip as a HP supported option

 

and since the bios firmware is the same for the mintower/SFF models it's confirmed this cpu will have bios support in either enclosure
