Product: Elitedesk 800 G3
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have 50+ HP elitedesk 800 PC's varying in model G2, G3 etc. These all came with Windows 7 and some with an upgrade disc to Win 10. However I am not sure that all of them came with this. is there a way to find out maybe using a serial number if the machine is eligble to be upgraded to Windows 10?

Hi:

 

If they came from HP with W7 installed, most likely they have a W10 Pro product key in the BIOS.

 

You can easily check if there is a W10 Pro key in the BIOS by running this free utility that I have zipped up and attached below.

 

You shouldn't even need to product key to install W10.

 

The key in the BIOS will automatically be picked up by W10.

 

What I don't know is if you can do an inplace upgrade from 7 to 10.

 

I know a clean install will work if there is a W10 product key in the BIOS.

 

You will have to experiment with doing an inplace upgrade if you so desire.

I have a theory, that the machines that are eligble have the windows 10 sticker underneath. However I have not come across any yet, with just a win 7 logo. So they may all be eligble.
