Hi, I have a HP Z1 G9 PC that works fine and boots correctly, until I enable the RAID in the BIOS by enabling "Configure Storage Controller for VMD". After enabling RAID, the PC now blue screens when attempting to boot. Repairs do nothing. Only thing that brings back the OS is to disable to RAID again. I have checked the boot order and everything is fine. I have patched firmware, BIOS and drivers. Nothing seems to work.
Issue appears to be the same as the below, but has not solution.
The PC has an M.2 drive for the OS and then 2x Seagate BarraCuda 2 TB Hard Drives for the RAID Array.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brett

most issues with enabling intel VMD can usually be traced to improper existing storage configurations or non UEFI OS installs or improper or missing RSTe driver
the HP Z2 G9 /G9R is required, but your post header states you have a "Z1 G9"
Specific Intel® Chipset, Refer to Supported HP Workstation
• PCIe NVMe storage device connected to a PCIe slot or M.2 slot of PCH or CPU attached
• All devices used in RAID volumes must have the same controller type, combining NVMe
and AHCI devices in a RAID volume is not permitted by Intel® RST.
• A best practice is to use devices from the same manufacturer with the same model
number and capacity
