After using it for 2 weeks, my new custom build and very expensive HP Z2 G9 died today.
It won't boot. When pressing the power button, the button light up for a few seconds and turn off.
Nothing happen, no beep, no fan noise, nothing.
By chance, I did a backup last night, so I'm moving my stuff to my old Z2 G3. For now, I can't access my data of today. It could have been worse.
I contacted HP Support. They should send someone too look at it next week.
It's so disappointing! 😢

same exact problem. Its gotta be either motherboard or power supply. Press the power button, Fans spin up then there is a click and then nothing. green light on bottom of motherboard is lit and does not blink.
This was a screaming fast computer, replaced and blew away a 2017 Z840 with dual xeon 2687w. Guess it just flew too high.
Did you have any luck getting running again?

No, no luck with that and I'm still waiting for HP. It look like the part is back order and there no ETA.
Mine don't start at all. No beep, no fan noise, nothing. The power button light up for a few seconds then it turn off.
I will try to contact HP today to get an update.

Called HP 3 times to get an update. So fare, they don't know when they will receive the part. It's been over 5 weeks now since I open the ticket.
Just checked the case status using HP Support Assistant and it look like they cancel the previous service call and initiated a new one. I still don't know when it will be repaired.
What a poor customer experience.

Something similar has happened to my Z2 G9 but I've been able to recover it a few times. Strange as it sounds, I have to unplug all USB devices and plug in a 1080P monitor (it won't work with multiple brands of 1440P monitors I've tried at home and work). Then long press the power button which forces something to clear. After a couple of tries it comes back up. Only to crash a few days later.
HP support told me to use different monitors, ignoring the fact that it won't boot without one when in this state. Very frustrating.

Yep, it's very frustrating indeed.
I have been waiting for two months for them to come and fix the computer and they still don't know when the part will arrive.
I also tried unplugging all accessories, but that didn't change anything and the computer won't start.
I will contact them today and ask for a refund or an exchange.

This thing is the biggest computer turd that I have ever purchased.
I purchased on October 18, 2022... ran Windows update once and it bricked itself. I took it to an "HP Store (not affiliated with HP Espana)" in Madrid and they got it working again.
I then replaced the M.2 drive and added a 2nd and now it is bricked again. Even if I put the original drive back in, the machine won't POST.
HP Support in Spain is an absolute trainwreck. No refund, no exchange. Apparently, no one at HP Spain speaks English (I'm only 7 classes in).
I think it's time for a credit card chargeback.
What the heck is wrong with these things?

After reading the thread here and elsewhere, I have decided to cut my losses and bought a Mini-ITX board, PSU and case and that should solve the HP problem.
Not ideal, but if some of you have been waiting weeks and months to get this sorted, it'll be worth the extra dollars to just fix the issue myself.

I contacted HP last week and the part should arrive tomorrow.
Not sure why we are having so much problems with these new computers. Is it poor design or poor quality control?
For the parts delivery delay, the global microchip crisis must have repercussions.
I hope it will be fixed this week or the next one. If not, I will have to do a charge back if I can't get a replacement or a refund.
I have been using HP Z2 Mini computers for years and have never had any issues.
