OK, the original modules removed and the new ones inserted.  The result was no boot and beep codes.  The new ones are now on their way back to the supplier.  I have asked them to let me know if they are faulty when they test them.

That´s some good progress. It´s very odd that two modules fail at the same time though. It makes me wonder if there is some mis-match between the pairs, new pair v.s old pair, despite having the same part numbers that throw off the motherboard.

I will report back what the supplier says.  It is a mystery to me why they did not work.
