hp z420
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was using my HP z420 when it suddenly powered off.

I tried to power it back on but the power button blinks with 4 red lights.

What does this mean ?

Do you know if this computer only supports Xeon v1 CPU's ?

I have upgraded the CPU to an 8-core v2 CPU. ( E5-2650 v2 )

It was working fine for a while them this happened.

You need to check the motherboards Boot Block Date listed in the BIOS. This is not the same as the BIOS date.

If it is 2011, then your mobo only supports the v1 CPU's and 1600MHz memory

If it is 2013, then your motherboard supports both the v1 and v2 CPU's, (and most v2 CPU's support 1866MHz memory).
