I'm looking to setup a VM farm at my house. I can get a ML350p Gen8 with
the E5-2609 processor, 32GB of RAM for $305.00.
My questions are:
1) I want to put the E5-2670 processors in it, however I did read that you
have to be careful which ones you get. They should be ones that had
been sold, or were in an HP server.
2) I want to use 1TB SATA drives, do these have to be HP drives ?
My other choice is to buy a ML350p Gen8 with E5-2660 for about $380
Has anyone tried this?
Any and all help is appreciated

Hi:
HP split into two companies a few years back.
HP supports PCs, printers, tablets, and calculators.
HP Enterprise (HPE) supports servers, switches, routers and tape drives.
