PCIe SLOT Erro on Boot-up

I have the Bios in UEFI mode, and works great. I boot from the PCIe Slot 4 with a Turbo Drive Samsung NVMe drive. I put the PCIe Slots in learning mode to install Windows 10 on the NVMe drive. I don't know if this setting was needed or not, but it worked.

My problem is when I try to install any PCIe card in SLOT-1,2,or SLOT-7, Right on boot up it gets a PCIe error on whatever SLOT I use and it happens with different cards and I had a previous card on SLOT-7 and will not take it.
The computer works perfect right now. I'm just afraid to crash it over and over. I wish I could put it in Factory settings, but I don't know if it will mess things up in UEFI mode.
I don't even know how to go into Bios because somehow the Bios boot-up screen is black and then shows the Hp logo after. I think its in fast boot mode witch I do not really care for, I would rather see the boot screen on start up.

If there is a basic optimal position to set the Bios in, I would appreciate your advice and input.

learning mode forces the pci-slot(s) into v1.0 mode, and then tries to step up in 4 stages to 3.0 speeds each time you reboot

also your NVME slot placenet is wrong, HP says boot nvme card is to use slot one (above gpu card) and sec card to use slot 6 as these pci-e slots connect directly to the CPU (fastest speed) other slots go through chipset which is slower

pci-e slot 7 os only PCI-e 2.0 speed

remove power cord open case cover, press power button for 10 sec then press cmos reset button for 3 sec.

this will restore bios factory defaults

remove all cards except for Boot ssd (place in slot 1) and video card (slot 2) and power on system and set date/time then power off and back on, reenter bios and if not booting from onboard LSI sas/sata controller DISABLE LSI BIOS (not lsi device)

then do the same for the onboard network ports, reboot enter bios and confirm disabled if so go to boot order and under UEFI and legacy confirm Turbo z card is the topmost device in the boot order menu, now power down and install other ssd card power on enter bios and make sure this card is listed under/lower  than the boot ssd name, save and reboot if it boots to os shutdown and add one pci-e card, power on and confirm os loads and device is seen in device manager power off and repeat till all cards have been installed the above method allows windows to move/reshuffle  the cards irq/io settings better than trying to do it all at once which can cause issues

I do not understand this. I have my NVMe card on port 4. If I put it into port one I will loose massive of SSD performance. In slot 1 I have my SB Fatal1ty Champion Recon 3D PCIe 1x. That's the right port for my soundcard.

Sorry I do not saw that you are talking about the Z840. I thought that is was a Z620. DGroves is absolute correct 🙂
