On this, the mini form factor, overheating is a big issue. I've already started to address this for me. I'm reprinting the front of the case with more ventilation, and have printed a different internal drive holder that can handle a larger drive. My problem is this. Where can I attach a fan, or new fans to the system.

since the majority of prodesk 600 G2 users are not having overheating issues with stock components, i have to ask if you have modified your unit? you already state that you are trying to install a modded Drive cage
if you get a small axial blower type of fan, you can make a bracket and exhaust air out the back case vents
i personally would tap power from the power jack right where it comes into the case (19.5v DC)
and use a 40x40x20mm 14-27v DC axial blower type fan
here's one such fan

fan speed can be slowed by using a 2-5 watt resistor to drop voltage, i'd guess 27/30 ohm is in the ballpark

definitely not stock. i think the drive is close to 15mm, and there was no way to put it in with the existing drive cage, also the existing hdd cage makes it impossible to use both m.2/nvme slots at the same time
i see a spare hdd fan header that appears to be a jst 1.0 pitch 4 wire, i'm hoping that will run my two mini fans to move air through the case. if not i will likely follow up with your suggested idea
