HP EliteDesk 800 G5 Tower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

1. I don't recall every "enabling" sure click when I first booted up this machine (which is a private machine, not company owned or managed).

2. I am running Windows 10 using Chrome as primary browser and Outlook as email client. My work involves a lot of editing of Word docs which are coming to me from colleagues all using my same workplace URL or via our corporate OneDrive. I find it an extreme time waste that every time I download a .pdf or a .docx I have to navigate to the file in downloads and remove protection before I can work on it. I cannot for the life of me figure out how or where to add an exception to, for example, add my workplace domain to a safe list.

3. Now as a few days ago, when I try to print a document I can see as it is spooling up the print service the machine is for some reason "talking to secure click" - documents just sit in the spool, they NEVER print. (Yes i have restarted the service, yes I have rebooted the machine, yes I have hard rebooted the printer).

4. I have ready about disabling Sure Click using its icon in the system tray, but on my machine there is no "Sure Click" icon just "HP Client Security" which when I open it presents a bewildering set of options accessible through a very buggy interface and cannot seem to locate any solution.

5. I really do not like this software and wish to simply manage online security risks using my own preferred tools and methods which have served me well for years. If I cannot get rid of this intrusive HP security suite, how can I at a minimum stop this ridiculous locking of every attachment I download, and re-enable printing. Serious considering re-turning this machine.

not trying to be rude, but your post seems to indicate to me that you have very little knowledge on the workings of the installed OS, as such trying to walk you through troubleshooting via email is most likely going to be near impossible

a simple google search will provide numerous links on how to uninstall " uninstall HP security suite windows 10 "

https://www.google.com/search?q=uninstall+HP+security+suite+windows+10&rlz=1C1SQJL_enUS909US909&oq=u...

in regards to HP sure click, the odds are you did installi it, perhaps not intentionally but HP applications do not magickly install without providing notifications. It may also be the application was pre installed by HP and you unknowingly activated it

again, google provides numerous links on this subject and here's a example link

hopefully the provided information will help you, if not then visiting a local computer shop may be the best course
