while HP never offered or intended this thin client to have anything other than it's official drives, it is possible to install SOME ssd's  that meet the size requirements

 

the t520 has a std M.2 slot and should take a  224 or 2260 length ssd (not sure on which is factory size)

 

it's also possible to fit a 2280 length ssd if you reposition the internal speaker and devise your own hold down for the ssd

i recommend a nylon threaded standoff that you cut to the correct height that accepts a nylon "ssd" mounting screw which can then be attached to the motherboard via silicone adhesive (remove existing mounting 224/2260 post)
