My first NVidia Quadro K2200 in my HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Tower failed after two months. I am wondering whether the power supply in the pc (250W) will support the K2200, which is 60W. I have replaced the video card. Was it a bad video card or could the small power supply be at fault?

The PSU is not an ATX style, it is a proprietary design.
as long as you do not add anything more, then my personal opinion is that yes you can run the card safely but you will be just about at the max wattage the system is rated for i can not give a definitave answer as hp does not post the power draw of the systems motherboard all other componets have listed wattage/power specs so it's easy to figgure the total
and then assume 30 watts for the systemboard itself
acording to hp the base unit is a 280 watt supply for the tower unit with a 400 watt optional and a 500 watt available only at time of purchase if using the high end radon cards ( HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Tower Gold 500W Chassis)
this is the part number for the 500W 800 psu
Partnumber 913290-001
Description GNRC, PSU 500W, 90% EFF,800 TWR
if you are currious, you can get a "kill A Watt" meter for about 20.00 and actually see what the system draws from the outlet in watts

the k220 card with a 250 watt supply is well within the systems spec as long as you do not have a core i7, 64gb ram
dual ssd's and so on.........in other words a system with power hungery parts and optional assessories installed is going to draw more than a base system with a i3/i5 cpu and 8gb ram and one ssd
a card can fail due to bad cooling (no airflow) or a failed fan, or simply fail due to whatever
so i would not worry to much that you had one fail
also if you were stressing the power supply, you would experence random crashes/reboots or a complete power supply failure
last hp shows this model available with a 500 watt supply ar you sure youes is the base power supply?
