My windows will close fast but my computer isn't.

HP Recommended

simply because the display subsystem shuts down does not mean that windows itself has fully shutdown

you can check windows system and application log files and see what they report

ok

Thank you!

Now I am on my clean Install.

If it will be problems I will install that intel application as I did before.

I hope my computer will shut down normall and sleep and I will not have any black screens as I did before.

I contacted HP support directly to resolve this, after they sent me recovery discs which I installed to find they contained Windows 10 Version 1, yes the very first ever iteration of Windows 10, the machine simply sould not upgrade to the latest version 1803.

I stuffed aorund with this for three days, in the end downlaoded Windows 10 from Microsoft, did a clean install and rebuilt the machine that way. I then re-installed all apps etc, machine working fine as is Performance Advisor.

One step inbetween all of this was being informed that the NVidea GTX 1080 Ti card IS NOT SUPPORTED in AUSTRALIAN versions of the Z840. I was told that the Australian Z840s have a different motherboard and that I should not be using this card. This came as a shock to me as it was working poerfectly. But, to avoid warranty issues I removed it and replaced it with an Nvidea P4000 which is working perfectly well.

That was all fun! NOT!

and did hp support tech state WHY the 1080 TI is not supported? the comment that your motherboard is diffrent than the boards used in the USA or europe is a statement holds little water and appears to be nonsense

while it may be true that HP has not tested or approved the 1080 TI models as aopposed to the 1080 models the only diffrence between them is really the power draw. the "TI" cards can draw 230 watts opposed to the 1080's  170 watt draw

the  early release of windows 10 v1080 (like previous releases) had some known problems which has now been resolved

and current win 10 downloads now have these fix's included, a prime cause of random issues was also from the first release ofthe june 2018 update, which was rereleased 3 weeks later to fix numerous issues

last HP and all other large companies cannot siply rerelease a intall DVD every 4 months or even every year as the cost and logistics involved is to great,... while a pain, it's not really a major issue to update from the version on your disk to the latest for most people (note that i said most not all people) i also understand that not all people have fast or free conections so please do not attack me on this subject as i am aware of it
