HP Z800 Base Model Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Added a 2nd processor to Z800 professional workstation.  Boot error says good, tested memory in slots 1 & 2 for processor 0, does not pass self-test and is disabled.  Would like correct BIOS settings and fix for this annoying problem.  Thanks much in advance for your help with this.  Appreciate it greatly...  Bill in Houston

lets start with you providing the existing ram config and which slots you installed the new ram and also provide the old/new ram part numbers

also the model number cpu(s) you are running as only the 003 board rev can run both the X55xx or X56xx CPUs lower rev's are limited to the 55xx line only

indicated by the AS# number printed on the white sticker located directly below the big black chipset heatsink.

ram on the z800 is installed in groups of 3 for each memory bank, and all ram in a bank must match see the inside of the side cover for the most common memory configs

your current post provides no useable information that can be used to provide a solution

Thanks so much for your reply.  Appreciate your help greatly.  Answers to your questions as follows:

THANKS FOR THE NFO,  do both of your CPU's have the same stepping numbers? (Example - SLA2B)

your posted ram number does not return as a valid part number, as such i can't confirm ram compatibility, while in general ram is a item that can be used from any vender workstations can be a bit more specific which is why you should only use vender qualified ram if possible your  (dual) 2x rank memory may not be compatible

Supported DIMMs and Configuration Rules
 The HP Z800 supports Unbuffered 1GB single rank and 2GB dual rank PC3-10600E 1333MHZ ECC DIMMs
 The HP Z800 supports Registered 4GB and 8GB dual rank PC3-10600R and PC3-10600P 1333MHz DIMMs

For any of the black and white pair of memory connectors, if two DIMMs are loaded and one of these DIMMs is quad rank,

all the memory in the system will run at 800MHz.

The CPUs determine the speed at which the memory is clocked.

Example: if a 1067MHz capable CPU is included in the system, the maximum speed the memory will run at is 1067MHz regardless of the specified speed of the memory

The HP Z800 supports Registered 16GB (2H 2009) quad rank PC3-8500R and PC3-8500P 1067MHz DIMMs

please try with only CPU 0 installed and only a single QVL 1gb or 4/8gb dimm in slot one you can get dimms like this on ebay quite cheaply
