the hp z420 uses the "ENTERPRISE" RST drivers for the "C600" series x99 chipset not the consumer RST driver set
go to the HP site and download the intel SCU drivers, this will enable the drive ports which are not currently working
and the drivers will also enable AHCI/SATA non Raid modes

Hi,
i'm trying to install W10 on a Z42O PC and i have had same problem you had related here.Impossble to see more than 2 HDD under windows.
I understand that i have to update the storage driver and i dowload the package here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27308/Intel-RSTe-AHCI-SCU-Software-RAID-Driver-for-Windows...
But there is a lot of software: can you tell witch on is the good one and how to install it?
Thank a lot

you can tell yourself by simply READING the included documentation on how to use the rst package files which intel/HP thoughtly have included
you can download the latest package (v4.5) directly from intel: Version: 4.5.10.1021 (Previously Released) Date: 8/17/2018
do not use any version higher than 4.5 as newer versions no longer include support for your boards chipset
