We are experiencing the same error. We are Win7/IE8/32bit environment. We are trying to access the RMX4000 by ip interface.
We have added the IP as an intranet site and lowered all sec. settings for that zone. We have also tried running IE in admin mode. We are able to install the MGR but can't access the browser interface.

In case anyone else is having this very problem on IE8 and IE9 (only tested), we got around this issue by creating a alias in DNS for the management IP and connecting by that.
For some reason whenever we attempted to connect over the IP is would fail with a browser error, however when connecting over for example http://rmxmgmt.domain.com is would be fine....

Hi All, I struggled with this error as well and found the only fix to be this little gem here from the knowledge base. If all the steps listed in this threat do not help you have most likely .Net 4.5 or higher installed. As per the entry here this is what is causing the issue.
As I cannot link the article, here the steps to take that worked for me on RMX 7.8
| ||
![]() | ||
Customer cannot log into the RMX using a browser when .NET 4.5 is installed. Customer gets the splash screen with the troubleshooting links. Clicking on the links do not correct the problem. PC is running .NET 4.5. PC's that use .NET v4.0.3 work. RMX Manager stand-alone application is unaffected and functions normally. | ||

The RMX version 8.1 addresses this issue. If the customer cannot upgrade, on a PC with .NET version 4.5 a registry key must be added in order to access the RMX through the WebUI. |
- Close Internet Explorer completely
- Open application regedit.exe
- Create a backup of the registry before making any changes.
- Navigate to the registry:On a 32-bit system (Windows) navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\.NETFramework
On a 64-bit system, navigate to:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432node\Microsoft\.NETFramework
- Add the Dword value of EnableIEHosting
- Set the value of EnableIEHosting to 1
- Close the registry
- Reopen Internet explorer.
Hope it helps someone else.
