Hi Dan,

Thanks for the suggestion of Poly Lens. I had used the Windows version previously to manage a standalone Poly USB video conference camera.

I've now registered with Poly for the Poly Lens web site once I had configured the basic site settings and rooms I then went into each of the devices web pages, enabled cloud and then used the link shown to open the device add page in Poly Lens. All 5 are now connected to Poly Lens and I can see the software update status there. The TC8's gradually appeared by themselves. So far everything is looking good. It looks like I should be able to do the updates from here once they release a newer version.

One thing I was a little confused was provisioning. I saw that option on the Poly devices, but they didn't list Polycloud as a connection option like it suggests in the online documentation. Only NTLM and basic. In this case I didn't use provisioning anyway because I didn't want to affect the current setup now that it is all working. However, It might be useful in future for quick setup of new devices, or refreshing the existing config if we had to do a device reset.. What would be the best way to use that in future....?

Also, as the original problem is resolved and we are deviating slightly from the original issue, I am wondering how to 'accept as solution', when more than one answer has helped me resolve it, and also if I do that, will it stop us from commenting further?

Hi BarryJAu

I would always go with Provision Server - Doc: Provisioning Video Devices | Poly Lens Help

Reason is that I can ensure that the endpoint will have the same basic configuration and remove the risk of forgetting to set a parameter on the endpoint it self. Human interaction always have risk a failure. This is also how we learn. 🙂

With the Provision Server it is almost a Set and Forget configuration.

You can ex. A device group to test firmware release for only the members of a Device Group

I also use Sites (defined by IP Scopes) to set country specific settings, like the Country and Time zone

Note: If you have configured a setting on the device and is NOT configured in Poly Lens, then it will not be changed on the device when you enabled Provisioning server.

Hope short description helps you.

I´ve not heard about this specific issue. I´d recommend to update X30 and TC to the latest poly release 4.1.

After signing in the devices to teams, see if there´s any update for the peripherals in TAC.

if that does not resolve the issue, please open a support ticket with Poly | HP.

Cheers, Uwe
