Hi:

If you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 Home Basic product key on your notebook's case, you can make your own W7 installation media as follows...

Click on the Windows ISO Downloader.exe link below to download the tool to create the W7 ISO file download.

This link downloads a file that accesses the Microsoft Techbench W7 ISO files and generates the ISO file download you need.

https://www.heidoc.net/php/Windows-ISO-Downloader.exe

Select the Windows Home Basic ISO file download for the version of W7 the product key is good for.

I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility below, that will allow you to either put the file on a USB flash drive or DVD, or you can use a different free utility such as Rufus.

Then you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page...

good evening, ok so i came right....all i did was boot into recovery which i didnt think was possible because it was completely messed up the os and everything, did a system recovery saw there is a hidden drive that contained the required files and the rest was actualy straight forward, i downloaded your tool also just in case i'd get stuck but so far everythings good, the main thing is that hp logo is back in my system information. the way i like the originality.

my other question is can this software be upgraded to windows 10 for free?

Hi:

Unfortunately, that I do not know.

The free upgrade to W10 ended a long time ago, but this person said you can still get the upgrade for free (as of 31 OCT 18 anyway).
