How do I get the HP app?
The print app for your printer is either the HP app or the HP Smart app. If available, use the HP app as it is newer than HP Smart and is the main print app supported by HP at this time.
However, the HP app is not being released everywhere at the same time and might not be available. If this is the case, use HP Smart until the HP app becomes available.
Open an internet browser on the device you want to connect your printer to and go to123.hp.com.
On the page that opens, search for your HP printer. The print app for your printer is displayed on the page.
Do one of the following, depending on what is available on the web page.
If the HP app is available, install it.
If the only print app shown on the page is the HP Smart app, continue using the HP Smart app until an upgrade option becomes available.
How do I get started with the HP app?
The HP app is similar to the HP Smart app. Add your printer to make a connection and gain easy access to your printer's features and settings, such as printing, copying, scanning, and more.
HP is combining the functions of older apps like HP Smart in a single app to provide a simple, one-stop solution for all HP devices.

Can I go back to HP Smart?
No. When the new HP app is available for your device, HP Smart is obsolete and cannot be re-installed. The HP app replaces the HP Smart app with new features and functionalities.
Do I lose printers and settings when I update from HP Smart?
No. After you update, all printers added to the HP Smart app appear in the HP app. All HP Smart features or solutions are found on the HP appDevice detailspage.
Where did my list of printers and devices go?
If you uninstalled HP Smart first and then installed the new HP app, you need to re-add your printers.
