Has anyone else been scammed by HP's contracted support company?  WOW. I logged into support to troubleshoot a printer connection problem, and because it was a link from HP I thought it was safe.   I got taken to the cleaners... I have reported to my PayPal and credit card provider to hopefully settle the dispute.   But they took over my computer with LOGMEIN and then downloaded  the Adguard software and that seemed to be about it.   amazingly I got through to MICRO TECHLINES OR GEEK TECHLINE... They seem to be the same but got a lot of attitude for my effort.    It was like they were daring me to try to remover my money!   then I thought HP might be interested in the company they apparently had hired to do their tech warrantee repairs.   But actually the number I called was also the same MICRO TECHLINE OR GEEK TECHLINE.   You can guess how that went.   Finally I got a number that seemed to be not related to support at HP and again no interest in what I had to say.   I have filed a report with my state department of consumer protection.

what a way to do business!

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I want to thank you for taking the time to speak to us today.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

Problem opening scanner yesterday on almost new Dell computer. Somehow got intercepted from HP chat help by someone from geektechline.com who told me my computer had malware and was about to start selling me his product when I terminated the connection. This is a scam and very disappointed that it seemed facilitated by HP support.

I had trouble scanning, and searched the HP help site-123.hp/support. However, I didn't pay attention to the web address, and got into GeekTechLine. They called me on my phone (I stupidly ignore the caller ID as Scam). They took over my computer briefly, but the tech started asking odd questions. I told him to detach from my computer, which he did. So far, I've not seen any problems. Did you have any delayed issues.
