All of the print in the cartridges "exploded." There's really no other way to explain it. It made an incredible mess in the machine and on the floor. We have not been able to get anyone to come out and look at it and give us an idea of what is needed to fix it. Any guidance is appreciated.

When I found the currrent promotion it listed the T730 and T830, but after I posted the link a friend informed it was to an expired promotion so I edited my post and added another post.
But I noticed the expired preomotion did not list the T730 or T830 and I was sure I had seen them listed.
So being slightly OCD I kept looking.
This link should take you to the May Promotion:
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/trade-in/citu/may16/overview.html
This link takes you to an overview of HP Trade In Products across multiple lines:
https://h41201.www4.hp.com/AdLanding/us/en/8408/
This link is the same overview site, just one click further in, select Printer-Plotter from the list, it should work even if you wait until June since it is not for a specefic date range, it just lets you find the current promotions:

And if the ink has damaged any parts they need to be replaced too.
I would take advantage of hp's trade-in program on DesignJets and buy a new machine, they will want the electronics module from your old machine in trade.

This is a later note, I found that I had posted the same promotion as Mike and can't find the website for the current promotion but I did find a PDF detailing that there is one read the next post down for details.
Here is the current program:
DesignJet Cash in & Trade Up April 2016 | HP.com
http://www.hp.com/united-states/tradein/promo/designjet3/citu/
@Mikeg81 every time I check they're running some version of this program.
This month they list have a designjet T730 and T830 either would be a good replacement for a 1050C.

I have found a PDF listing the printers you can trade in for the May 2016 program but haven't found a link to a web page that tells you what printers are offered to purchase on this program.
I have posted the title of the PDF so you can find it online.

Thank you so very much for all the information and effort in getting the right information to us. We have found what we believe to be the part that may be causing the issue, and we are going to replace it and see how that goes. If we are not successful, we will look at the trade-in program.
Again, thank you for taking the time to help us out - we really appreciate it!
