I just bought some printheads from an online vendor. The boxes look ancient and have dates of 2002. Aren't these too old to be 'new'? They are pricey, so I don't want to use antique printheads. What is the purpose of the date? Thanks!

They are likely old, will work but you have no warranty from HP on them if they are expired. Expired heads should sell for af least half of new price. If you paid anywhere near retail, return them.
