Hello there,
I am very disappointed, I have just purchased an HP designJet T520 to replace a DesignJet 111 "roll".
I use the 111 exclusively to produce my positive films for screen printing or negative films for cyanotypes. It worked very well.
However, I did not have WI-FI or ethernet and the front loading tray, which was not very practical.
I thought that the T520 would meet all my expectations.
But when I did some film printing tests, the black density (although pigment ink according to the documentation) was well below the black density produced by the DesignJet 111.
The best result with the T520 that I managed to get was not with the settings "transparent media or film" but plain paper in high quality and with the option "all grey", because if you choose "only black" as on the DJ 111, the halftones are simply ignored and are transformed into black solids.
But this is still not good enough dark to block UV light.
I find it strange that a newer model does not do as well as the older one.
But maybe I missed a setting. Does anyone have an explanation?
Thank you very much.
