I got a T8 Allen key and was eventually able to remove both screws, so it is indeed a T8 that is needed. However they are in there real tight. I had to use all my strength to remove them, so it seems they were super tight from being put together originally. Thank you to all that helped with this problem, which was mainly my fault due to not checking a T8 in the first place.
