Hello,

My HP Pagewide 5100 just had it's mother board replaced and reverted back to default but I can not find the default username and password. Any ideas on how to find that?

Hi @Guy1184

When the system board is replaced, the printer reverts to factory defaults. For PageWide XL printers, the administrator credentials are not listed in the service manual because they depend on the specific firmware revision and configuration.

The first step is to try accessing the Embedded Web Server (open a browser and type the printer’s IP address). Use “admin” as the username. In most cases, the default password is either:

  • blank (leave it empty), or

  • an 8-digit PIN printed on a sticker inside the printer (sometimes located near the formatter or service label).

If those do not work, you’ll need to reach out to HP Support directly. They can confirm the correct default for your unit and, if needed, help reset the credentials securely.
